An exhibition hall for the storage of road vehicles from the local collection has been built on the premises of the Public Transport Museum in Prague-St\u0159e\u0161ovice. SAGASTA prepared the project documentation for the new hall in the DSP and PDPS stages. During the construction, we also performed author’s supervision. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The new two-story hall<\/a> is used to exhibit historical buses and road work vehicles from the museum’s collections. The first above-ground floor opens to the street with a quartet of large-format doors with opaque glazing<\/strong>, while the second floor is notable for its distinctive facade of solid bricks and brick strips in two height levels. <\/p>\n\n

As part of the architectural design, we considered the specific terrain of the lower courtyard \u2013 the building is sensitively embedded into its slope descending towards Na O\u0159echovce Street. The industrial appearance of the building itself is complemented by the unique genius loci of the entire complex<\/strong>. Within the project, we addressed this by combining traditional and functional materials: exposed concrete, glass, and metal elements in a matte metallic, darker shade. <\/p>\n\n

A specialty and modern element of the new hall is the green roof with sedum plants<\/strong>. This contributes to the sustainability of the building and creates a harmonious whole in combination with the surrounding trees. Thanks to this, the new hall is not only a functional but also an aesthetic addition to the Public Transport Museum complex. <\/p>\n\n
