The main construction works have moved into the interior of the building, while track installation and signalling-system implementation continue on site.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The project, valued at more than <strong>CZK 755 million<\/strong> excluding VAT, will provide facilities for the maintenance of both regional and long-distance train units and will significantly strengthen \u010cesk\u00e9 dr\u00e1hy\u2019s servicing capacity in western Bohemia. According to \u010cesk\u00e9 dr\u00e1hy, the hall is expected to begin operation in the spring of next year.  <\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThe steel structure of the hall alone weighs <strong>395 tonnes<\/strong>, and more than <strong>5,800&nbsp;m<sup>\u00b2<\/sup> of panels<\/strong> were used for cladding the walls and roof. We are also building 3.2 kilometres of new track and 19 turnouts. To ensure the most economical and environmentally responsible approach, we recycled more than 80% of the material from the demolished buildings directly on site, giving it new purpose in the construction,\u201d said Michal Kraus, Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceskedrahy.cz\/tiskove-centrum\/tiskove-zpravy\/stavba-nove-opravarenske-haly-cd-v-chebu-miri-do-finale-hotovo-melo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u010cesk\u00e9 dr\u00e1hy<\/a> and Deputy General Director for Maintenance.   <\/p>\n\n<p>As part of the project preparation, SAGASTA produced the documentation for the joint permit procedure and for construction execution. We also provided author\u2019s supervision throughout the implementation phase. The construction work itself is being carried out by the consortium of TSS GRADE and BERGER BOHEMIA.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"New &#x10C;D repair hall in Cheb\" class=\"wp-image-2071\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb2.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>The project includes, for example:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; a&nbsp;three-track hall with a&nbsp;usable length of <strong>165 metres<\/strong> on each track <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; inspection pits, maintenance walkways and a&nbsp;<strong>12.5-tonne<\/strong> portal cran <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; five sets of lifting equipment for simultaneous handling of multiple units <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; modern facilities for staff <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; new workshops and storage areas <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Environmental and energy-efficient solutions<\/strong> also play a&nbsp;major role in the project \u2013 photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting, and an efficient heating system combining a&nbsp;gas boiler with warm-air units. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2072\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.sagasta.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/cheb4.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>An innovative signalling and safety system is currently being installed, enabling smooth and safe movement of train units within the depot. This is the very <g id=\"gid_0\">first implementation of this system in the Czech Republic<\/g>.
