SAGASTA s.r.o. as the designer of the new central control building for high-speed lines in Prague at Balabenka

Prague, 7 November 2024

SAGASTA s.r.o. proudly announces that it has been selected as the official designer of the new Central Control Centre (CDP) building in Prague at Balabenka. The new building will become a key element in the operation control of high-speed lines (VRT) in the Czech Republic. Completion of the construction is planned for 2030.

The project, commissioned by the Railway Administration, is among the most significant investments in the field of railway infrastructure. SAGASTA s.r.o. succeeded in the tender with an offer of 38.4 million CZK excluding VAT, which is almost 1.5 million less than the estimated price. As part of this contract, SAGASTA s.r.o. will provide comprehensive project preparation, including author supervision during construction.

“The contract includes preparing the project and providing author supervision during the construction of the new CDP building, including related structures, a larger number of parking spaces with chargers for electric vehicles, and also a new energy centre ensuring electricity supply for the entire site,” says the chief project engineer Emil Špaček from SAGASTA s.r.o.

The new control building will become not only the centre for high-speed line operation control in the Czech Republic, but also an important hub for the coordination of railway transport in Prague.

“In three years, we will begin construction of the new control centre for managing high-speed line operations. In addition, from here we will also be prepared to manage operations on the existing lines in the Prague railway node,” said Jiří Svoboda, Director General of the Railway Administration.
