Today saw the start of the long-awaited reconstruction of the Dolní Polubný transport hub, located on a heritage-protected railway line in the district of Jablonec nad Nisou. This unique rack railway line is an important technical monument and a key part of the region’s transport infrastructure.
The reconstruction project was prepared by the renowned company SAGASTA s.r.o., which specializes in transport infrastructure with an emphasis on preserving historical and architectural values. The modernization will include the installation of new rack switches, which will enable smoother and more efficient operation while preserving the historical character of this railway line.
“Our goal was to combine modern requirements for rail transport with respect for the historical heritage of this exceptional line. We believe that this project will contribute not only to improving transport services, but also to promoting tourism and interest in technical monuments,” said SAGASTA CEO Jiří Čurda.
Once reconstruction is complete, the Dolní Polubný transport hub will be an important point in the railway network, enabling safer and more efficient operation in the region.
