Project description:

The project concerned the reconstruction of the existing station building at Šternberk station. The building is located at km 115.785 – km 115.865 on line 778 Olomouc – Šternberk – Šumperk. The station is classified as Category C under the internal categorisation of passenger stations based on passenger significance.

The building continues to serve its original purpose; however, an unused upper floor—originally containing  residential units—was removed. The unused storey was dismantled, along with the existing single-storey wings: the wing containing the former restaurant and the entire northern wing (the demolition works were documented separately). The central section, which today serves passengers,  has been retained, as has the single-storey wing, which is now used for railway operations and staff facilities. This wing was renovated under a separate project within the Electrification of the Uničov–Šternberk Line programme and   is used for operational functions (technology and control systems).
