We will contribute to the modernisation of the railway junction in Brno. Správa železnic has selected us as the designer for the Brno-Černovice section, which will increase railway capacity and include a new terminal. SAGASTA won the tender among four bidders with a bid of CZK 222.225 million, representing 80% of the maximum permissible total bid price in the tender.
New Černovice Terminal and Increased Railway Capacity
The new terminal, which will replace the existing railway stop, will be built on a viaduct above Olomoucká Street and will connect rail transport with the city’s public transport network. The project will also involve major changes to the track layout. From the new main railway station, a seven-track section will lead towards Černovice and then split into two four-track branches towards Židenice and Slatina. A new track connection to the Chrlice district will also be created.
The project will provide barrier-free transfers and increase the capacity and reliability of rail transport in Brno and the surrounding area. The modernised infrastructure will also enable the more efficient development of regional and long-distance services, as well as future high-speed rail connections.
