For the South Bohemian Region, we are beginning to process the DUSP + PDPS construction project “Relocation of roads II/156 and II/157 – Stage 3.”

The “Relocation of Roads II/156 and II/157 – Stage 3” is part of a series of construction projects ensuring the connection of the D3 motorway and Road I/34 from Jindřichův Hradec with a new connection to Road II/156 in the direction of Nové Hrady and Road II/157 in the direction of Srubec. The purpose of the project is to supplement the main transport backbone of České Budějovice’s urban roads and relieve the existing congested Class II thoroughfares. Another reason is to improve the city’s connection to the higher-level road network (the planned D3 motorway route). In the Regional Spatial Development Plan, this construction is described as a “railway-side road.”

Relocation of roads II/156 and II/157 – connecting the center and “Zanádraží”

“Relocation of roads II/156 and II/157 – Stage 3” involves the construction of an underpass beneath the railway station on the Mánesova – Dobrovodská/U Lávky route.

The relocation of roads II/156 and II/157 consists of a total of six stages. 1., 2. and part of stage 4 have already been completed. Stage 3 involves the construction of a tunnel structure under the railway station, which is connected to the existing road network on both sides by grade-separated junctions. The purpose of the relocation is to connect the city center and the “Zanádražní” road, thereby relieving congested roads and creating an alternative to the underpass on Rudolfovská Street with its limited clearance height.
